Celebrating Gospel Excellence in Zimbabwe
Celebrating Zimbabwe’s gospel excellence, ZGMA honours the artists, producers, ministries, and creatives shaping the nation’s vibrant gospel music industry.
About Us – Zimbabwe Gospel Music Awards (ZGMA)
The Zimbabwe Gospel Music Awards (ZGMA) is an annual platform dedicated to recognising, celebrating, and uplifting excellence in gospel music. Founded by LC Arts Organisation and registered under the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe, ZGMA was created to give gospel artists, producers, creative entrepreneurs, and SMEs a stage where their talent and ministry are properly honoured.
Our awards shine a spotlight not only on the performers but also on the people working behind the scenes — the producers, technical teams, media partners, and churches who contribute to the gospel music ecosystem. By celebrating creativity, professionalism, and innovation, ZGMA also contributes to the growth of Zimbabwe’s creative economy.

Our Story & Milestones
ZGMA was born out of the vision of Lee Chitsungo, founder of LC Arts Organisation, who recognised the need for a dedicated stage to honour Zimbabwe’s gospel talent. Inspired in part by earlier diaspora-focused initiatives, ZGMA launched its first edition in April 2025 at Casino Marina, Longchen Plaza, Harare, where over 100 nominees competed in multiple categories.
The inaugural event celebrated legendary artists like Michael Mahendere, Dorcas Moyo, Mambo Dhuterere, and The Charambas, while also recognising church leaders and SMEs who support gospel ministry. The success of this first edition demonstrated the hunger for a gospel-focused awards platform, laying a strong foundation for future editions.
Looking Ahead
As ZGMA prepares for its second edition in April 2026, we aim to deepen our impact with more award categories, greater participation, stronger technical production, and broader engagement with Zimbabwean creatives at home and in the diaspora. Our commitment remains to uplift gospel music, celebrate talent, and build a lasting legacy for the industry.
